Hello, Riders! My claim to fame? I’ve been riding motorcycles since I was seven. And after all these years, I still haven’t gotten tired of finding new places to ride.

I’m Michael Murray, founder of THE MOTO LOOP.

Motorcycles came long before the THE MOTO LOOP. They’ve been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and they’ve taken me places I never expected to go.

I started riding when I was seven years old. Today, I mostly consider myself an adventure rider. I’m happiest when the pavement ends and the route gets a little more interesting.

One of my most memorable adventures was a 35-day, nearly 5,000-mile trek across ten states on my BMW dual-sport motorcycle. I rode virtually entirely off-road, navigating forestry trails, fire roads, logging trails, Jeep trails, and single-track. I crossed deserts, dealt with floods and lightning, and climbed up and over 14,000-foot mountain passes. Pretty much every day brought something different.

It was an incredible experience, but the motorcycles and miles were only part of the story. What I remember most are the people I met along the way. Riders. Non-riders. Complete strangers who became part of the adventure.

When I’m not riding off-road, you’ll often find me on my 1979 BMW R80/7 classic motorcycle.

That’s really what THE MOTO LOOP is about. Yes, it’s about motorcycles. But it’s also about the people, places, adventures, stories, and unexpected connections that come with them.

And because motorcycle enthusiasts need good places to ride, shop, service, eat, stay, and explore, THE MOTO LOOP also features businesses that are part of the motorcycle community.

I created THE MOTO LOOP because I wanted a place where people who genuinely enjoy motorcycles could connect with one another, discover new adventures, share experiences, and find the businesses that help make those experiences possible.

The bike may be what brings us together. The people are what make it worth the ride.
